I’m Deain Van Schalkwyk, currently 26 years old residing in South Africa. I have been playing scrumhalf since I was in Primary School till today and I have not once changed my position until 2019 where my home club I play for needed a flyhalf so I took the number 10 jersey on 2 occasions at club rugby level. They call me “Kleintjie” because of my height but one thing I can tell you is that I have a big heart with excellent ball handling skills, I love to make tactical box kicks and just love to be second line of defense or should I say like to sweep behind first line of defense. I love communicating on defense and love to organize my first line of defense. I love playing where there is space to attack and support other runners. I love controlling the game and visualizing the space of the game and changing the direction of play. I love using my forwards in 1-3 phases and quickly send the ball to the back line for quick attacking rugby. I love to change the momentum of the game to slow and fast to catch the opponents off guard.
